Man sent home from The Chase for 'booty call' answer to crucial question

A contestant on The Chase was sent home after being stumped by Americanised answers.

Heating engineer Alun, of Cardiff, was one correct answer from putting the prize fund up to £18,000.

But disaster struck when the 48-year-old was presented with a seemingly simple question tainted with an unusual set of answers.

As reported by the Liverpool Echo, host Bradley Walsh asked: "Which of these is the act of accidentally phoning someone when carrying a mobile phone in your back pocket?"

Alun was given the options of (A) Butt dial, (B) Booty call, or (C) Bottom ring.

He reluctantly chose 'booty call', adding: "I normally call it a pocket dial, but it wasn't up there."

Walsh said: "Never called it that, butt dial. Never heard of that."

The remaining team members, Tom and Yvonne, went on to win and took home £11,000 between them.

Fans of the ITV show were quick to show their sympathy for Alun on social media.

A user with the handle @michaelDMG said: "Since when was it called a butt dial?"

Another, @weepigeonface, said: "Butt dial?? That’s harsh."

And @niamhs90 said: "It's not a butt dial. It's a bum dial. We aren't American..."
