Nobody was injured in the incident.

Police are now searching for the culprit, who is described as white, of slim build. He was wearing dark clothing with the hood up at the time of the fire.

Detective Sergeant Euan McMillan, Paisley CID, said: "Setting fires deliberately is extremely dangerous and reckless, it is fortunate that nobody was injured.

"We are currently checking CCTV and making door to door enquiries to trace the person responsible, however we are appealing to anyone who may have any information to come forward.

"Think back, were you woken during the night, or may have been out in your car in the area. Did you hear something, or could you have dash-cam footage that could help us?"

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police via 101, quoting incident number 0076 of Thursday 4 April 2019. Alternatively you can contact CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 to remain anonymous.
