Officers from the Ellesmere Port branch of Cheshire Police posted on Facebook to warn people living near the area of Mill Lane of the unnerving incident. Police said they received a report of a man hiding in the bushes near the bottom of Mill Lane, by the footbridge leading to Valley View.

As a woman walked down the bath, the man hiding shouted "is this your coat?" and police believe the man was trying to get the woman to approach his location. Officers urged people to be "vigilant" if walking in this area.
