Man scales roof and refuses to come down in five-hour stand off with police

A man has scaled a roof after police busted a cannabis factory - forcing a nearby road to close.

Officers were called to a property on Washwood Heath Road in Birmingham at around 2pm on Tuesday.

There they found an illegal drugs farm, a statement said - and a man who quickly fled.

The man scrambled to the roof and ran across to another property, where he remains as of 7pm.

West Midlands Police were forced to seal off two roads while they worked to bring the man down.

Photos taken by BirminghamLive show a person sat appearing to talk on a mobile phone.
