Man says you can prevent garlic breath by cutting the germ out - and it's mind-blowing

Whether it's spread on bread or used in sauces, garlic is a much-loved kitchen staple.

But, what we don't like, is the bad breath that unfortunately comes with it.

Thankfully, a man has shared a hack that he says will "fix" this problem - and it's surprisingly simple.

TikTok user @noflakeysalt regularly shares cooking tutorials like how to make butter from scratch and how to cook Sous Vide steak - but it's his garlic hack that's got people talking.

In a video that has been viewed more than 365,000 times, Roice Bethel revealed how to stop garlic from making your breath smell.

He said: "If you're eating something with a lot of garlic, and your breath smells horrible afterward, let me show you how to fix that."

You just need to remove a part of the garlic (tiktok.com)

He demonstrates cutting the garlic clove in half, before using a knife to peel the "germ" out - a small sprout in the centre of the garlic.

The germ, according to Roice, is what causes indigestion and bad breath.

By removing the germ "the garlic will taste less bitter and your breath won't smell super pungent afterward," he added.

Then, the garlic is ready to be sliced or minced, and added to your dish of choice.

Since being posted, the video has been liked more than 26,000 times and has received 600 comments from divided users.

One said: "Never knew this! [Thank you] for the garlic hack! This will saves lives."

Another said: "BRO ARE YOU JOKING? Ima test this."

"Wait this is so cool?" added a third.

But one person said: "That's too much work," and another put: "That's... not how... garlic works my guy."
