A man has reportedly said “it was easy” to murder one of his colleagues because she rejected his romantic advances and “ruined his life.”
Christopher O’Kroley had allegedly been harassing 24-year-old co-worker Caroline Nosal, who complained about the situation to managers at Metro Market grocery in Madison, Wisconsin.
After being fired because of the complaint, the 26-year-old immediately purchased a gun, according to the Winconsin State Journal.
He then sent texts to co-workers to find out when Miss Nosal would be leaving work, pretending he was going to return to the shop to pick up his belongings.
Instead, he allegedly waited by her car and shot her twice, a crime he has since reportedly confessed.
After the shooting, he text another colleague saying: “I killed Caroline and I’m about to kill myself. So don’t be surprised when I don’t respond anymore,” the Winconsin State Journal reported.
Mr O'Kroley was arrested the following day after exchanging fire with police.
A former girlfriend of Mr O’Kroley has claimed he attempted suicide in 2014 and suffers from mental health issues, according to New York Daily News.
Miss Nosal’s friends and colleagues have started a GoFundMe page in her memory.
