Man said 'I'm the devil' and then bit woman's lip off at street carnival

A woman's top lip was bitten off by a man at the Notting Hill Carnival in London.

Police said that the man approached the woman and said I’m the devil’ before he leaned over and bit her top lip off.

The incident happened at 6pm on August 25, which was the first day of the world famous street carnival.

The victim, bleeding heavily and in shock, approached police officers, who escorted her to the nearest first aid post.

She was then taken to a west London hospital where her injuries were deemed life-changing.

Surgeons operated on her facial injuries but she will require further surgery in the future.

"The man who did this is clearly a violent and dangerous individual and I am determined that we identify and apprehend him as soon as possible.”
