Man's Taylor Swift-themed proposal praised by fans as 'perfect' and 'cutest ever'

If you've heard Taylor Swift's latest album, Lover, then you might be familiar with a song off of it called Paper Rings (and if you haven't heard the album, go and listen to it immediately).

The track is an upbeat number, in which the 30-year-old superstar sings about not needing a flashy rock on her finger to prove how much she loves her partner.

She proclaims: "I like shiny things, but I'd marry you with paper rings."

It's really sweet and was always bound to inspire a romantic proposal or two - and it seems that big moment has finally arrived.

A Taylor Swift fan has taken to social media to share details of the adorable way her partner popped the question.

In a post on Reddit, the unnamed woman wrote: "I like shiny things, and he proposed to me with paper ring(s)."

Alongside this, she shared several shots of a paper ring her fiancé had made for her and placed inside a box filled with pink tissue paper, with the Lover logo stuck inside.

Upon saying yes, her symbolic paper ring was then replaced with a huge sparkling one.

Fellow Swifites on the site couldn't get enough of the whole thing and branded the proposal "perfect" and the "cutest ever".

One person replied: "Holy s**t. I would die if my boyfriend/girlfriend did this for me. He's definitely a keeper!!"

A second said: "If my partner (who does not exist... yet) doesn't propose to me with paper rings while Love Story is playing in the background, then what's the whole point of getting married?"

A third added: "Ummmmm this is the cutest thing EVER. Love!!! Congratulations!!!"

"Feeling super single but so happy for you!! Absolutely perfect proposal," proclaimed someone else.

However not everyone was quite as keen on the idea.

The post quickly made it's way over to a wedding shaming group on Facebook , where people weren't so kind.

"Song officially ruined," joked one user.

Another wrote: "Literally zero effort went into the arts and crafts for this. 4/10 for idea. 0/10 for execution."

But regardless of the guy's artistic capabilities, it's the thought that counts and this was a very thoughtful thing to do, so congrats to the happy couple!
