When police arrived at the scene, several of the group made off.

A short time later, officers were called to a disturbance in the car park of the nearby Lighthouse Inn on Highbridge Road.

Two men sustained injuries during the incidents which required hospital treatment.

A 27-year-old man suffered a broken finger and nose as well as a fractured skull, while a 29-year-old man sustained minor head injuries including a cut to his ear which required stitches.

Anyone who witnessed any part of the incidents and who has not yet spoken to police is asked to call 101 and provide the call handler with the reference 5219160239.
