An amateur photographer who thought he was taking the perfect snap of the docks unknowingly prompted a police response.
Dave Thompson had just finished taking photos on the flyover at Seaforth when to his surprise three police cars pulled up alongside him.
Fearing he had broken a law in regard to taking photos of the docks, Mr Thompson was reassured when he was told a local had notified the police of a concern for his safety.

Mr Thompson, 56, told the ECHO he wanted to give his thanks to the stranger who called the police and also to the officers for being so understanding when they arrived.
He said he saw the flyover is a perfect spot to take a photo of the dock area - but due to living in an rural area in County Kerry, Ireland, he doesn't get too many opportunities to take urban photography.
Mr Thompson, who is currently in Merseyside visiting family in Southport, said: "I thought it would be a good idea to walk up the flyover and take a picture.
"I didn't realise people would be watching and I think a local neighbourhood watch called the police.
"After I'd finished I was walking down and a police car pulled up and asked if I was okay.
"Before I know it another car pulls up from the Bootle direction and another from Crosby. There were six officers in attendance.
"I explained I was just taking pictures and they told me that was okay — someone was just fearing [for my safety].
"I felt guilty for wasting their time but they were very good about it."
He said: "I went away rather red faced but also with my faith restored in humanity. It's nice to know people are looking out for each other like that.
"The police should be commended as well. They were very, very nice and responded so quickly.
"I'm not pleased I made them go to the trouble, but I'm pleased they would go to the trouble to help people at the speed they did.
"It's just a shame they didn't arrive five minutes earlier because if they'd driven through the photograph with their blue flashing lights it would have been really good."
