Man's jaw broken in Liverpool street attack

Merseyside police have released an image of a man they would like to trace after an attack in Liverpool city centre.

A man was left with a broken jaw after being punched in the face on Wednesday, November 24.

The attack, which has left the victim 'very distressed', happened at around 1.25am on St Peter's Square.

Detectives have now issued CCTV images of a man who they believe may have information to help with their investigation.

Detective Inspector Jennie Beck said: "This was a dangerous and reckless attack that has left the victim seriously injured, and such violence like this will never be tolerated on the streets of Merseyside.

"This incident took place at a time where it would have been busy, so if you were in the vicinity in the early hours of Wednesday 24th November and saw anything, then please contact us.

"I am also appealing for people to come forward if you recognise the male featured in these images. We believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries."

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook with reference 21000818831.

You can also call 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111, or their online form at crimestoppers-uk.org
