Ever seen a "deformed iris" which is "sagging downward" as a result of being "detached from the nine o'clock position to the three o'clock position"? You have now.
A man in Taiwan sent himself to an ophthalmology clinic a week after an elastic strap he was using to secure items onto his motorbike whipped back and hit him in the eye.
He had been complaining of pain in the area, double vision and blurred vision in his left eye, the New England Journal of Medicine reported.
"Physical examination revealed bruising of the left eyelid and a distorted pupil," the study read.
"No evidence of lens dislocation, traumatic cataract, or retinal injury was noted.
"Separation of the iris from the ciliary body caused by blunt injury, known as traumatic iridodialysis, can lead to blurred vision, monocular double vision, or photophobia."
The study said the man's eye, a year after treatment, had recovered well enough to give him 20/50 vision, and that no further detachment had taken place.
There were no signs of glaucoma, and only "mild deformity".
