Man's face burnt after liquid thrown over him in 'serious attack'

A man has suffered burns to his face after liquid was thrown over him during a 'serious attack' in Bristol.

Detectives have now launched an investigation and are urging witnesses to come forward.

The attack happened in the Redcliff Hill area between 1am to 2am on Friday (January 15).

Officers confirmed the victim, who is aged in his 30s, was walking, when three people approached him, and threw a liquid. The victim sustained 'minor facial burns'.

An Avon and Somerset police spokesperson said: "We're seeking witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted in Bristol in the early hours of this morning (Friday 15 January).

"The ambulance service attended and provided treatment at the scene to the victim.

"Enquiries, including reviewing CCTV footage, are ongoing.

"Anyone who saw what happened, or people in the area at that time, is asked to call 101 and give the call-handler reference 5221009888."
