Man's death in Southmead prompts police response

A man has died in Bristol this morning (Thursday, February 25).

A witness contacted Bristol Live reporting several police and ambulance vehicles in Greystoke Avenue, Southmead.

Avon and Somerset Police has since confirmed a man has died.

Although sudden, his death is not being treated as suspicious.

A police spokesperson said: "We were called shortly after 7.30am this morning to reports of a sudden death in a premises in Greystoke Avenue.

"The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.

"Enquiries continue to be made on behalf of the coroner."

Police have since left the scene. No further information was given about the nature of what happened.

The man's next of kin have been informed.
