Man's body recovered from the sea at Skegness beach

The body of a man was retrieved by the coastguard on the Lincolnshire coast at the weekend, police have confirmed.

Officers from Lincolnshire Police said the incident happened at 2pm on Sunday, August 2 at Skegness beach.

The man has not yet been formally identified and police have confirmed his death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokeswoman for Lincolnshire Police said: "The body of a man was recovered by the coastguard at Skegness beach at 2pm yesterday (August 2).

"This is not being treated as suspicious. Formal identification of the man has not yet taken place."

RNLI Skegness Lifeboat Station confirmed it had launched an all-weather lifeboat at 2.03pm on August 2.
