Man’s body recovered from Grand Canal in Dublin

A man's body was found in Dublin's Grand Canal on Sunday.

Gardai discovered the body at the Dolphin’s Barn section of the canal on Sunday afternoon.

His body was taken from the water to Dublin City Mortuary where a post mortem examination will take place.

Gardai say that the results of the post mortem will dictate the direction of their investigation.

Officers are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery.

A garda spokesman said: “Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body of man in the Grand Canal at Dolphins barn [Sunday] afternoon.

“The body has been removed from the scene to Dublin City Mortuary for a post mortem, the results of which will direct the course of the investigation.”
