Police have pulled a man's body from a Scots river as cops probe the 'sudden death'.

Officers tragically discovered the 59-year-old man dead in the River Gryffe near to Torr Road.

The grim find was made this morning at around 6.25am in Bridge of Weir.

The death is not believed to be suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.25am on Thursday, 2 September, the body of a 59-year-old man was recovered from the River Gryffe near to Torr Road.

“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and as with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
