Man's body pulled from North Sea as cops probe death

The body of a man was pulled from the North Sea last night sparking a police probe.

Emergency services were called to the Aberdeenshire coast just after 10pm on Thursday evening.

Police confirmed the body of a man was recovered from the North Sea, off the coast of Peterhead.

Enquires are currently ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Formal identification of the body is yet to take place.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 10.20pm on Thursday, June 17, the body of a man was recovered from the North Sea off the coast of Peterhead.

“Formal identification is yet to take place and inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”
