Man's body left for 5 hours on UK train after dying from a heart attack

A man's body was left unnoticed on a UK train for five hours after he died from a heart attack.

The man was on a train that departed from Piccadilly station in Manchester and was eventually found by a cleaner.

According to the Scottish Sun, the man was supposed to get off the train eight minutes later - but his body carried on to Bournemouth, 250 miles from where he got on board.

Speaking to the newspaper a source said that the man’s death was probably unnoticed due to social distancing and preventative measures in place on the train.

UK train conductors have been told not to interact with passengers.

The source said: “They are not walking through carriages checking tickets and making sure everyone is OK, as they usually do.

“Their only task is to despatch trains safely. They spend the rest of the journey at the rear in their office.

“This poor fellow was dead on the train five hours before being found, which is heartbreaking in a civilised society.”
