A homicide investigation is under way after a man was found dead at a home in Melbourne's north with an elderly woman inside.
His body was discovered inside the property on Palmyra Court in Greensborough just after 11.30am on Monday.
A woman, aged in her 80s, was also located in the house and taken to hospital under police guard.
Police believe the pair were known to each other.
Homicide squad detectives are probing the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
It's the second homicide investigation to be launched in Melbourne on Monday, with a 35-year-old man arrested after a young woman's body was found at a home in Mernda in the city's northeast.
