Man's body found on South Coast beach

The body of a man has been found washed ashore on a South Coast beach.

The 76-year-old man was found alongside his boat on Burrill Lake beach, south of Ulladulla, just after 6.30am on Wednesday.

A NSW police spokesman said it's believed the man set out from Ulladulla Harbour about 5.30am on Wenesday on the boat before heading south.

It's not believed he was wearing a life jacket at the time.

A crime scene was set up at the beach and an investigation into the incident has been launched by South Coast police.

The man's boat was found upside down on the beach and has been taken for forensic examination.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
