Man's body found on grounds of Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley

The body of a 55-year-old man was found on the grounds near Royal Alexandra Hospital this morning.

The grim discovery was made at 3.55am on Wednesday with emergency services called to the scene.

Police say they are not treating the death as suspicious.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

A post mortem with also be carried out to determine the cause of death.

A police spokeswoman confirmed: "Around 3.55am this morning (Wednesday, 29 July, 2020) the body of a 55-year-old man was discovered in the grounds of the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

"A post-mortem will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of his death which, at this time, police are not treating as suspicious. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."

The Daily Record have approached the health board NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde for comment.
