Man's body found near Forth and Clyde Canal as cops lock down Falkirk street

A man's body has been found near the Forth and Clyde Canal in Falkirk today.

Emergency services, including specialist water rescue teams, raced to Main Street in the town at around 11:15am on Wednesday, January 27.

Pictures from the scene show a large area sealed off with officers from Police Scotland standing guard.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Daily Record: "Around 11.15am on Wednesday, 27 January, officers were called to the Main Street area of Falkirk, near the canal, after the body of a man was found."

"The death is being treated as unexplained pending further enquiries."
