Man's body found near Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh as cops lock down scene

The body of a man has been found near a popular tourist attraction in Edinburgh.

Police taped off Holyrood Road, near the Dynamic Earth building, after the grim discovery was made shortly after 11am on Sunday morning.

Officers remain on the scene while they carry out their investigation.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Officers were called to Holyrood Road in Edinburgh shortly after 11am on Sunday (26 January) following the discovery of the body of a man near the Dynamic Earth building.

"Inquiries are ongoing and at an early stage. A police presence will be in the area in the meantime."

A witness wrote on Twitter early today: "Something happened in Holyrood Park, police everywhere, just taping it up."
