Man's body found in Edinburgh as cops close bridge near Murrayfield

A man's body has been found in a river near Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh today.

Officers from Police Scotland were called to Water of Leith, near Saughtonhall Avenue, at around 12.05pm today, September 7, after reports of a body find.

An investigation has been launched to discover the identity of the male who was found close to Murrayfield Stadium.

Police said they were not yet able to pinpoint how he died but their enquiries were ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Daily Record said: “We received a report of a man’s body found in the Water of Leith, near Saughtonhall Avenue, Edinburgh, at around 12.05pm on Thursday, 8 October.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the identity of the man and the full circumstances of his death.”
