Man's body found in rubbish chute at Dundee high-rise flats

A body of a man has been found in a refuge chute outside a high rise in Dundee.

Police are treating the death as unexplained after the body was discovered yesterday morning outside Elder’s Court in the city.

No formal identification of the man has been made but he is believed to have been in his 30s.

There is a possibility the man could have been in the chute since Friday as it is understood no member of staff is on duty to check the rubbish area at the weekends.

It is understood the body was discovered by a concierge who turned up to work at Elders Court on Monday morning.

A police spokesperson said: “Police Scotland was made aware that the body of a man was found at Elders Court in Dundee around 8.10am on Monday, 27 April.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
