Man's body found in Milngavie park as cops probe 'unexplained death'

A police probe has been launched after the body of an unidentified man was found near a Scots beauty spot.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Allander Park, Milngavie, at around 11.30am on Thursday after the tragic discovery.

The man, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene and investigators are currently treating his death as “unexplained”.

The area, near the popular walking route the West Highland Way, was cordoned off while officers carried out further enquiries.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Around 11.30am on Thursday, 4 June, 2020 officers were called to Allander Park in Milngavie.

"Police and ambulance attended and a man has been pronounced dead. 

"The area has been cordoned off and officers are currently carrying out enquiries to establish more information surrounding the death and establish his identity.

"A post mortem will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death, however it is currently being treated as unexplained. 

“A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
