Man's body found in Greenock flat as cops probe sudden death

A man has been found dead in 'unexplained' circumstances inside a flat in a Scots town.

Police were called to the property on Inverkip Street in Greenock, Inverclyde, around 6am on Saturday after reports of a sudden death inside.

Officers made the grim discovery and say they are continuing enquiries into the death, which is being treated as 'unexplained', as reported by the Greenock Telegraph.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6am on Saturday, 16 October, officers were called to a property in the Inverkip Street area of Greenock, following the sudden death of a man.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained pending further enquiries."
