Man’s body found in Glasgow's Argyle Street as police cordon off pavement for sudden death probe

A police investigation has been launched after a man’s body was discovered in Glasgow’s west end in the early hours of the morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Argyle Street, in the Yorkhill area, at around 4.10am on Tuesday, April 13.

A 56-year-old man was found to have sadly passed away with a police cordon put in place while officers carried out enquiries, Glasgow Live reports.

Investigators say the man’s death is not believed to be suspicious but they are awaiting the results of a post mortem examination.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.10 am on Tuesday, 13 April, 2021, the body of a 56-year-old man was found on Argyle Street, near Haugh Road, Glasgow.

“At this time, his death does not appear suspicious, however, a post mortem will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of his death.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. Officers remain at the scene.”
