Man's body found in Edinburgh flat as police launch probe

Police have launched a probe after a man's body was discovered within a flat in Edinburgh.

Officers were scrambled Bathfield in the Leith area of the city on Monday night.

Worried neighbours reported seeing forensics officers combing the area for clues.

Uniformed officers were also spotted guarding the building where the body was found.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed officers are investigating.

She added: "Around 8.20pm on Monday, 11 May, 2020, police received a report a man had died within a property in Bathfield, Leith.

"The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the death."
