Man's body found in Dumbarton home

A man's body has been discovered in a property in Dumbarton.

Police were called to a property in Helenslee Place yesterday (Thursday, April 25)at around 3.15pm where they made the grim find.

The death of the 67-year-old is being treated as "unexplained" and an investigation has been launched.

The Lennox Herald reports locals have seen plain clothes officers and forensic teams entering the house.

One neighbour the Lennox: "An ambulance arrived at about 3.45pm and there was a few police cars parked out too.

"You could see officers in plain clothes going in and out as well as some people wearing  forensic suits."

Police officers remain at the property, which is near to Levengrove Park, today.

A spokeswoman from Police Scotland said: "Around 3.15pm on April 25 police were called after a body of a 67-year-old man was found within a property on Helenslee Place in Dumbarton.

"The death is being treated as unexplained and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal."
