Man's body found in Adelaide's north

Police are investigating the suspicious death of a man at a truck repair business at Salisbury last night.

South Australian police have started a murder investigation following the discovery of a man's body overnight

Police were called to Northern City Tipper Hire on Fisher Street at Salisbury about 6:20pm.

"Police were called to the area after the body of a 39-year-old Northfield man was found at a business premise," a police statement said.

"Detectives from Elizabeth CIB as well as officers from Major Crime and the Forensic Response Section have attended the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death."

It is understood the man owned the business where the body was found.

"He was a great bloke and he always looked after me," a work colleague said.

"It's ... a shock, it hasn't really sunk in yet."

Police spent the morning interviewing employees and videoing the area where the body was found.

Senior constable Matt Brown said detectives wanted anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

"If you were out and about yesterday evening in Fisher Street, there's an industrial estate, a business premises there, if you saw anything that looked a bit untoward then please give us a call."

Police are expected to hold a media conference this afternoon.
