Police are investigating after the body of a man was found impaled on railings in west London.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and detectives believe the man may have slipped while trying to climb the railings in Kensington.

The man, believed to be about 55, was pronounced dead at the scene after his body was discovered at 6.39am.

The man has yet to be identified as detectives from Kensington & Chelsea CID carry out an investigation.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “There is nothing at this very early stage to indicate that the death is suspicious. Officers are at the scene and their inquires continue.”
