Man's body found at ruins of Scots castle

The body of a man was found at the ruins of a castle in Aberdeenshire.

Police raced to Gight Castle, near Methlick, Aberdeenshire at 2.40pm on Friday.

It came after reports of concern for a person by a member of the public.

Officers discovered the body of a man at the scene.

The man's identity has not yet been confirmed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called around 2.40pm on Friday, 11 September, to a report of a concern for a person at Gight Castle, Methlick, Aberdeenshire.

"The body of a man was found."
