A man has died in a unit fire at Newcastle.
Emergency services were called to the blazing unit at Stockton about 5am on Monday.
Crews from Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze before finding the man's body.
The victim is yet to be formally identified and there are no other reports of casualties.
Police have established a crime scene and are investigating.
