Man's body discovered near Paisley sparking desperate police probe

The body of a man has been discovered near Paisley sparking a desperate police probe.

Officers have launched an investigation after finding William McGillivray dead at home in the Renfrewshire and Inverclyde area.

Cops are now searching for the 73-year-old's family after making the tragic find yesterday.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Detectives are now appealing to the public for information.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police are appealing for the assistance of the public in tracing relatives of 73 year old William McGillivray who was found dead at his address on 11th March 2021. There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

"Anyone who has knowledge of William's family is asked to contact the Enquiry Department at Paisley Police Office on 0141 532 6003 during officer hours Monday to Friday or email Renfrewshire Inverclyde DASU RenfrewshireInverclydeDASU@scotland.pnn.police.uk."
