A man's body has been discovered near Edinburgh's Holyrood Park.
Police raced to the scene on Holyrood Road, near the Dynamic Earth building, at around 11:00am this morning (26 January).
It is understood that the area remains sealed off while police carry out their investigations.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Officers were called to Holyrood Road in Edinburgh shortly after 11am on Sunday (26 January) following the discovery of the body of a man near the Dynamic Earth building.
"Inquiries are ongoing and at an early stage. A police presence will be in the area in the meantime."
One eyewitness wrote on Twitter: "Something happened in Holyrood Park, police everywhere, just taping it up."
Meanwhile, another reported seeing "tape and ambulances" at the scene shortly before 1pm.
