Man's body discovered in a Stirling city centre street being treated as 'unexplained'

The discovery of the body of a man in a city centre street is being treated as “unexplained” by police.

The man’s body was discovered in Upper Craigs, near to the junction with Cameronian Street, at around 5.45am on Wednesday.

Witnesses say that a police presence remained in the Upper Craigs area for a number of hours.

One person noted that officers were "standing guard" and at around 8.15am were moving pedestrians on. They said: "When I passed the van stopping traffic going down the road there was quite a lot of police down there and it was all cordoned off.

"When I walked back the way there was police guarding the street."

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
