A man's body has been discovered at an Edinburgh beach.
Police are believed to have made the grim discovery this morning at Silverknowes Beach.
An investigation has now been launched as cops try to identify the remains.
The area has been taped off as detectives remains on the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a man's body found near Silverknowes beach, Edinburgh, around 9am on Monday, 5 October.
"Officers and the ambulance service are currently in attendance.
"Enquiries are at an early stage to establish the identity of the man and the full circumstances."
