Man's 'belter' actions praised after speaking to boy in Aldi

Hundreds of people have praised a man who gave £10 to a mum and her young child while waiting in an Aldi checkout queue.

It happened after Emma Gregory took her son to do some shopping at the store on Smithdown Road yesterday (Wednesday, December 22).

All the mum had with her was £20 and when waiting in the queue to pay, her seven-year-old asked for a packet of Veggie Straws crisps from next to the till.

Emma told her little boy she wasn't sure if she had enough money to pay for the crisps on top of the shopping and asked him to wait to see what change they had left.

A man in front of the pair in the queue turned around and approached the seven-year-old boy.

Emma said: "The kind gentleman in front of us turned around and said to my boy 'here you are mate, get what you want out of that', and passed him a tenner.

"I just wanted to share this totally random act of kindness towards me and my seven-year-old boy."

Emma shared what happened in the supermarket in the Wavertree Watch L15 Facebook group and hundreds of people reacted with a like, love heart or hug emoji.

These were some of the reactions of ECHO readers.

Ruth Strong said: "That was a wonderful thing to do god bless you Sir, have a good Christmas to you and your family."
