Man rushed to hospital with serious leg injury after attack on Scots street

A man has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a street attack in North Lanarkshire.

The 29-year-old was set upon in Coatbridge on Friday at about 9.30pm in the town's Blair Road, Glasgow Live reports.

The victim is said to have sustained a serious leg injury and was taken to University Hospital Monklands, in Airdrie, for treatment.

Police Scotland says enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and are asking anyone who may have any information to contact them.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called around 9.30pm on Friday, November 12, to a report of an assault in the Blair Road area of Coatbridge.

"A 29-year-old man sustained a serious leg injury and was taken to University Hospital Monklands in Airdrie for treatment.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

"Anyone with information that could help with our enquiries is asked to contact officers via 101, quoting Incident Number 3777 of Friday, 12 November, 2021."
