A man was rushed to hospital after being punched in the head during a ‘shocking and unprovoked assault’ in Trafford at the weekend.
On Sunday (July 11), police were called to reports of an assault outside The Vape House store on Talbot Road in Stretford.
A 31-year-old man was approached by another male who then punched him, causing him to fall to the floor.
The victim was taken to hospital with a serious head injury.
He remains in hospital, but according to Greater Manchester Police is now in a stable condition.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
Officers from GMP are keen to trace the attacker 'as quickly as possible' and are appealing to the public for help.

Detective Constable James Simpson, of GMP's Trafford district, said: "This is a shocking and unprovoked assault which has resulted in a man having to be hospitalised.
"This behaviour is completely unacceptable and we are doing all we can to trace the man responsible as quickly as possible.
"Anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed this assault, or has any information that could assist police, should get in touch as soon as possible. Even the smallest piece of information could prove vital in helping us to complete our investigation."
