Man rushed to hospital with serious injuries as forensic cops seal off cycle path in Johnstone

A man has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being found on a cycle path in Johnstone.

Cops sealed off the path near Napier Street after the man was discovered at around 3.40pm on Sunday, August 1.

The 54-year-old was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

It's not yet known how the man came to be injured.

Police have now launched an urgent probe into the incident with forensics spotted combing the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Emergency services are in attendance at the cycle track near Napier Street in Johnstone after receiving report of a man found with serious injuries around 3.40pm on Sunday, August 1, 2021.

“The 54-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment. Enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.”
