Man rushed to hospital with 'serious injuries' after two car smash on Scots road

One man has been rushed to hospital after a two car crash on a Scots road.

Police raced to reports of a collision on the A866 Braighe Road on the Isle of Lewis on Tuesday, August 24.

The two-vehicle smash, involving a car and a motorbike, happened at around 10.40pm last night.

The road was closed down by police for over five hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.

It has now been confirmed that one man, the driver of the motorbike, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

The road fully reopened to traffic at around 4am this morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 10.40pm on Tuesday, 24 August, to a report of a two vehicle collision on the A866 Braighe Road on the Isle of Lewis, involving a car and a motorbike.

“One man, the driver of the motorbike, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

“The road was closed and re-opened around 4.15am on Wednesday, 25 August.”
