Man rushed to hospital with serious injuries after terrifying 'bottle attack' in Fife

A man had been taken to hospital after being seriously injured during a broad daylight attack in Dunfermline.

Emergency service s were called to the scene on Henryson Road, in the Touch area of the town, at around 4.55pm on Sunday.

More than five marked police vehicles were pictured at the scene following the incident which is understood to have involved a number of weapons including bottles.

A 30-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police Scotland have said they are following a ‘positive line of enquiry’.

A force spokesperson said: “Around 4.55pm on Sunday, 30 August, officers were called to the Henryson Road area of Dunfermline, following a report of a serious assault.

“The victim, a 30-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment. Officers are following a positive line of enquiry.”
