Man rushed to hospital with 'serious injuries' after Dublin city centre fire

A man has been hospitalised with "serious injuries" after a fire broke out in Dublin City Centre this evening.

The fire happened at the Grand Lodge of Freemasons of Ireland Library on Molesworth street shortly after 5pm.

Emergency services attended the scene and the area is currently fenced off for examination.

A garda spokesperson told Dublin Live: "Gardaí attended the scene of a fire at a premises on Molesworth Street, Dublin 2 this afternoon Friday, 31 st December 2021 at approximately 5.20pm.

"Fire Services attended to the fire and the scene is currently preserved for a technical examination. One male has been taken to hospital by Ambulance Services with what are believed to be serious injuries.

"Investigations are ongoing."
