Man rushed to hospital with serious injuries after Dublin city centre assault

A man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after an overnight assault in Dublin city centre.

The incident happened on Burgh Quay at around 1:15am. The man, aged in his 40's, was brought to St James' Hospital after he received serious injuries.

A garda spokesman confirmed to Dublin Live that an investigation is underway but no arrests have been made yet.

He said: "Gardai are investigating an assault that occurred on the 26 June 2023 on Burgh Quay at 1.15am where a man in his 40s suffered serious injuries and was taken to Saint James Hospital for treatment.

"No arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing."
