Man rushed to hospital with serious injuries after crash in Salford

Man has been rushed to hospital following a crash in Salford.

The motorcyclist, understood to be in his 30s, suffered serious injuries after colliding with a car on Coronet Way, Eccles.

Police and paramedics were called at around 12.20pm.

The road was shut, with drivers told to find alternative routes.

Another person was also treated for minor injuries at the scene but was not taken to hospital.

A spokesman for the North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 12.23pm to Coronet Way.

"We attended with an advanced paramedic, a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance. It was a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle.

"A male patient in his late 30s has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

"There was a second patient that was treated at the scene for minor arm injuries but they didn't need further treatment."

The road closure has caused long queues of traffic in the area, with cars moving slowly on Centenary Way and Broadway.
