Man rushed to hospital with serious injuries after crash as cops close Scots road

A man was rushed to hospital following a two-car crash forcing cops to seal off a Scots road for several hours.

Police were called to the scene on Cliftonhall Road, Newbridge at around 8.10pm on Saturday following reports of the smash.

A 40-year-old man was raced to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment of serious injuries by emergency services.

Cops were forced to close the road for around seven hours.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 8.10pm on Saturday, 6 March, 2021 following the report of a two vehicle road crash on Cliftonhall Road, Newbridge.

"Emergency services attended and 40-year-old man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment of serious injuries.

"The road was closed for around 7 hours."
