A man was rushed to hospital after being hit by a vehicle on Tuesday night (January 3) as thousands of football fans were leaving the Old Trafford football ground.
The male, a pedestrian, sustained serious injuries in the collision and was seen being treated by paramedics at the scene before he was rushed to hospital. Emergency services swarmed Talbot Road, near Old Trafford, shortly after 9.30pm, with numerous police vehicles and investigators from the Serious Collisions Unit also at the scene.
There were scenes of chaos as thousands were making their way along the busy road following the Manchester United V Bournemouth match. Videos shared to social media showed huge clusters of fans being diverted as police cordoned off the road for investigations to be carried out at the scene.

Images taken from the scene show a huge emergency services presence, with numerous ambulance vehicles at the scene and police vans, along with officers from Greater Manchester Police.
Witnesses described seeing 'at least ten' police vehicles at the scene, as others said the nearby Trafford Bar Metrolink stop had become 'chaos' due to the huge crowds being diverted.
Further details about the incident, any arrests made or the condition of the pedestrian involved have not yet been confirmed. A scene remained in place late into Tuesday evening following the serious collision.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At approximately 9:40pm this evening (Tuesday 3 January 2023), officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Talbot Road in Trafford.
"Officers and emergency services attended the scene and road closures have been put in place. A male pedestrian is reported to have sustained serious injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment. A scene remains in place whilst officers carry out their enquires."
